I had my SheerExperience last week! If you asked if I was nervous….I would admit that, hell yes, I was nervous! I had never done anything quite like this so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Some of my fears:
Will I look pretty? Will I be happy with the images or will they magnify my insecurities about my body or features?
Do I even have the ability to look sexy? Will I look posed or fake/awkward? Will I feel comfortable?
Looking back in retrospect…..I had absolutely no reason to be nervous. I was in good hands and all of my fears dissipated after the first few poses anyway. So if you’ve booked, relax and enjoy the process!
I have so many amazing images! I can look at these images and know that they represent me and show a side of myself I knew was there. I just needed help bringing that out. I did this shoot for me. No one else. As women we too often are expected to care for those around us and we stop caring for ourselves along the way. I’ve been through a lot of self reflection and growth over the last 5 years and this boudoir photo shoot is what I needed to feel strong, brave and empowered again. We are all worthy of self love and we should see ourselves in ways that boost our confidence and remind us that it’s OKAY to make our wants and needs a priority.
Jen & Brian communicated very well with me before, during and after the session. They also work very well together to create an amazing and unique experience. I was slightly concerned about posing but it’s seriously not at all difficult. All that’s needed is the ability to follow instructions. It’s really that simple. I opted to have hair and make up done prior to me session and I’m so glad I did! They both went out of their way to make me feel safe, comfortable and welcome throughout the entire experience.
I think I speak for a lot of women my age who’ve been through some shit in life…and come back stronger than ever. .it’s now time for us to live our most authentic life and let go of all that doesn’t serve us. No one will ever love you, like you, so do it well, and do the things you want to do. For me, a boudoir shoot was one of those things. I enjoyed the entire process, from hair and make up to the reveal, as well as getting to know Jen & Brian and learning about their business. I literally have zero negative feedback. I hope you all have as much fun as I did during your sessions, and don’t waste a second of the process being nervous!
